Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Whether this fragment is a cult inventory is uncertain. It shows the older variants of the signs LI and AZ.

Palaeography and orthography: Clear, regular script. Older LI (l. 4′) and AZ (l. 6′). Note the spellings ḫé-eš15-kán-[zi] (l. 3′) and DUGḫar-ši-al-li (line 4′).

2′: Note the unusual occurrence of the imperfective form of ḫāš-/ḫēš- “to open.”

5′: Perhaps a reference to the capacity of the pithos?
